Nepal's government tenders appear on the e-GP system run by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO). The 2007 Act asks each buyer to publish a bid notice in a national daily newspaper and on a website. Some mid-size works are open only to Nepali bidders.
We checked these sources on 1 November 2026. Nepal amended its Public Procurement Act in 2026, so some figures below may be out of date. The tender's own documents always decide.
Section 14 of the 2007 text of the Public Procurement Act sets the rule. A bid notice goes in a daily newspaper of national circulation. It also goes on the buyer's website, or on the PPMO website for central buyers.

PPMO's home page lists a Fourteenth Amendment to the Regulation dated 2082 in the Nepali calendar. It also lists a Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance dated 2083. Check PPMO's home page for the current texts.
These steps follow the Act and the Public Procurement Regulation. PPMO shows e-GP technical support pages and helpdesk notices on its home page. Use them for the registration steps, because they can change.
The Act is number 36 of 2007. Nepal amended it in 2026. We could not open the amended text. The English text of the Regulation we read is amended only to August 2019.
PPMO lists later amendments, so read the tender and PPMO's current texts. The figures below come from the 2007 Act and that 2019 Regulation text, unless they say otherwise.
Sometimes. Section 15 of the Act lists the cases that call for international bidding. Examples are works that more than one Nepali contractor cannot supply, and complex works. A donor agreement can also require it. These points use the 2007 Act and the 2019 Regulation text, so check for later changes.
