How long does registration take?

It varies. The UAE's federal register states 30 working days. Bangladesh's e-GP also needs attested copies sent by post or courier. Start well before you need to bid.

Do I have to pay to register?

Not always. SAM.gov, UNGM and the UAE federal register charge no fee. Bangladesh's e-GP charges a fee, and it is higher for international tenderers.

Can a foreign company register?

Often yes. The UAE register has a foreign supplier category, and SAM.gov accepts non-US firms with an NCAGE code. See can a foreign contractor bid.

Does registration mean I can win work?

No. It only lets you take part. South Africa's system calls self-registration an expression of interest. Each tender still sets its own requirements.

Do I need a separate registration for UN or bank-funded work?

Often yes. UN agencies use UNGM. EBRD encourages suppliers to register in ECEPP. World Bank-financed tenders follow the steps in the notice.
